Dingolfing-Landau breaks record: 424,293 kilometers of city cycling!
What a record! The final event of this year's city cycling, which took place on October 1, 2025 in the Dingolfing-Landau district office, set new standards. But not only the efficiency of the cycling, but also the commitment of the participants and the atmosphere were simply great. District Administrator Werner Bumeder and cycling officer Florian Hinkelmann welcomed a large crowd of enthusiastic cyclists and honored the best participants.
A new record was set: In total, the participants cycled an incredible 424,293 kilometers, much to the delight of the organizers. This significantly exceeded the previous record of 350,195 kilometers. The event was impressive not only because of the numbers, but also because of its positive impact on the climate. By pedaling hard, an impressive 70 tons of CO were released2be avoided.
Participation numbers and awards
Among the many cyclists there were some real mile eaters. Christian “Brain” Stelke from the Herzog-Georg School Dingolfing took first place with 2,487.3 kilometers, followed by Karl-Heinz Aichner from SV Frauenbiburg with 2,350.8 kilometers. Maria Pöschl from Landau a.d.Isar also stood out with 2,277 km, making her one of the best for the fourth time. What is particularly noteworthy is that the oldest and youngest participants were also able to match the performance of the adults: Dr. Johannes Smieja, born in 1940, and the little ones Felix (2021) and Katharina Obermeier (2024) showed that cycling is fun at any age.
