Hebertshausen: Only a few citizens at the information evening about the heat plan!

Hebertshausen, Deutschland - Around 20 interested Hebertshausen recently took part in an information evening about the municipal heat plan (KWP). The event, which was accompanied by the experts Johannes Dinkel von Ennaplan and Franz Kirzeder by Energie Concept Bayern, presented the results of the heat plan. The aim is to make Bavaria climate -neutral by 2040, which requires a fundamental waiver of fossil fuels such as oil and gas when heating. Dinkel addressed the challenges and opportunities associated with this change.

The concept of a municipal heat network that could be operated by a citizens' energy company was very interested. Kirzeder emphasized that Hebertshausen had a unique potential for the generation of thermal energy from renewable sources, including river water, photovoltaic systems and geothermal energy. This could play an important role in the planned heating network.

Questions about the cost structure and CO2 pricing

The discussion also revolved around the challenges that the current cost structure brings, especially with regard to the CO2 prize. Citizens asked questions about the future prices for thermal energy, which spelled could only concretize after the feasibility study was presented. Niedenhoff from the Citizens' Energy Cooperative said that the heat network should be implemented without direct financial participation in the municipality.

A time frame was also set: the implementation of the first heat network area is planned by 2027, with the wood grinder and the Torstrasse being considered as possible locations. At another digital information evening, which will take place on June 23, citizens should receive even more information. The presentations of the information evening are published on the website of the municipal company.

heat planning at the national level

In the further context, it should be noted that heat supply in Germany is over 50% of the final energy consumption and causes a significant part of CO2 emissions. Around 80% of the heat demand is currently covered by fossil fuels. The introduction of the Heat Planning Act, which comes into force on January 1, 2024, requires the municipalities to develop strategic plans for climate -friendly heat supply. The federal government supports these measures financially with a total of 500 million euros by 2028.

Ambitioned goals apply to existing heating networks: at least 30% of the heat from renewable energies should come from 2030, and this share is to increase to 80% by 2040. These guidelines are important in order to significantly reduce greenhouse gas emissions in the building sector and to achieve Germany's climate goals by 2045. This also includes the newly changed building energy network, which will drastically reduce the use of fossil fuels for heating from 2024. New buildings may only be equipped with heaters that are operated at least 65% with renewable energies.

The next important stage will be the public interpretation of municipal heat planning, which takes place at the end of June. Here, citizens can submit changes in changes, and the official decision on the local council is on the program for the meeting in July. It remains to be seen how the citizens of Hebertshausen and the community themselves will react to the challenges and opportunities that the climate -neutral heat supply brings.
