Raster on A73: Fire brigade warns of life at risk for emergency services!
Coburg, Deutschland - The situation on the streets is becoming more and more delicate, especially on the A73 near Coburg. The recent incidents have already called on the schedule that sharply criticized the behavior of many drivers after a traffic accident. Too often, despite the rescue workers used there, the necessary consideration is not taken into account. This not only ensures a queasy feeling among the emergency services, but also endangers their lives.
As the district fire councilor Stefan Püls explained, full closures are not uncommon in the event of accidents on the A73, especially if access to the scene of the accident is difficult. While the rescue alley is actually well formed, problems are often evident in one -sided blockages. "If only one trace is affected, the traffic often continues to flow unhindered," said Püls. But forming a rescue alley is not only a good idea, but has been regulated by law since January 1, 2017. According to Section 11 (2) StVO, drivers have to produce a rescue alley between the lanes on motorways at walking speed - that is about 7–10 km/h. Of course, not everyone knows that, and that often leads to dangerous situations.
consideration is required
An example that is particularly worrying in this context: In an accident on July 15, 2025, raser drove past the emergency services, which the fire brigade alerted. "Some road users seem to want to squeeze out of the traffic jam every second without thinking about the consequences," criticizes Püls. Do we really want our firefighters to risk their lives just because drivers cannot drive slowly?
Now the question arises: What happens if traffic does not form the rescue alley? The punishments in the event of disregard are clearly regulated: it is considered a crime if rescue workers are hindered. This can result in imprisonment for up to one year according to § 323c StGB. In addition, fines, points in Flensburg and driving bans are also possible. Nevertheless, law enforcement often fails due to personnel bottlenecks and the difficulty of identifying drivers that violate the regulations.
Enlightenment is the A and O
It is therefore particularly challenging to sharpen the awareness of road users for the rules around the emergency alley. Political measures such as harder punishments are important, but educational campaigns are also urgently needed to put this topic into the awareness of the drivers. After all, this is not just about laws, but about human life.
The fire brigade is currently optimistic and hopes that the access to road users will grow, even if no serious accidents have been recorded so far. "We would like more consideration and slow driving at site," emphasizes Püls. In the future, the discussion about new legal regulations or even via rescue gates in the middle course plank could be initiated in order to facilitate access to the emergency services.
In view of these challenges, the question remains: How consciously are drivers really about their behavior at accident sites and the importance of the emergency alleys? A clear announcement is required - for the security of everyone.Infranken reports that the fire brigade has sharply criticized the behavior of many drivers.
