New era of gastronomy: Lisa Marie” opens in Coburg!
What new splendor in Steingasse! Starting July 1, 2025, the restaurant, previously known as “1627,” will undergo a fresh makeover. Lisa Knorr, who comes from a traditional gastronomy family, is taking over the management from Louis Sommer, who has been away from the company since April. Sommer's experience has shaped the restaurant for more than a decade, but now a change is happening that is causing excitement in the region.
The restaurant itself, a former supply house for the neighboring Ehrenburg, celebrated its opening on November 6, 2014. The name “1627” refers to the date the house was built, which is now starting a new chapter. From July 1st, the restaurant will operate under the name “Lisa Marie – Living & Moments” and will present itself with an innovative concept. Knorr has also already revealed that the project includes a restaurant and two holiday apartments - a perfect combination of culinary delights and overnight accommodation.
A new concept for the future
“I’m looking forward to setting new standards and offering our guests an unforgettable experience,” explains Lisa Knorr. As the boss of the Alte Mühle in Oberwohlsbach, she brings valuable experience to Steingasse. She will certainly implement her new culinary plan with a lot of passion and the right feel for good gastronomy.
Another advantage: René, who was already head chef in the old restaurant, will also stay on board in the new “Lisa Marie”. He brings his skills and creativity to the newly designed kitchen - which promises delicious surprises for the guests. In addition, all open vouchers will remain valid in the new restaurant until December 31, 2025, which is welcome news for many loyal guests.
Gastronomy in transition
In view of the current trends in the catering industry, the new path for “Lisa Marie” is not alone. The trend towards local and seasonal products is growing in popularity, and 78% of guests are interested in restaurants that take this into account. The company figures in the catering industry also provide an exciting look at the industry: around 179,200 companies generated around 50.1 billion euros in sales in Germany in 2021, but the corona pandemic continues to pose challenges for the industry.
Gastronomy in Germany also remains a sign of cultural diversity and is resilient to global events. Despite declining numbers and rising costs, the industry remains dynamic and there is still room for new concepts and innovative approaches that enrich the dining experience.
Thanks to the tireless passion and commitment of restaurateurs like Lisa Knorr, there is a good chance that “Lisa Marie – Living & Moments” will not only become a new highlight in Coburg, but will also make a positive contribution to the diverse gastronomic landscape in Germany. It remains to be seen whether we will be able to inspire guests with a new culinary concept, but the anticipation is already palpable!
