Coburg relies on e-mobility: free parking for electric cars is required!
In Bavaria, electric vehicles have been allowed to park in public parking spaces for up to three hours free of charge since April 1, 2025, and this ensures a fresh air in the automotive industry. Numerous cities, including Munich, Nuremberg, Augsburg and Regensburg, are already moving in the same direction. In this context, the Pro Coburg electoral community hit the table vigorously and demands that Coburg also implement this regulation comprehensively. The application to the city council stipulates that all public parking spaces in Coburg should now be available free of charge. The signs required for this are attached accordingly.
In addition, parking spaces that are managed by urban own companies or subsidiaries are to be included in the regulation. This also includes pure battery-electric vehicles, plug-in hybrids and fuel cell vehicles. Interestingly, vehicles without an e-license plate can receive a special marking from the regulatory office in order to be identified as an electric vehicle-a measure that should expand the offer. This proposal shows that the parliamentary group leaders agree: the promotion of e-mobility is inseparable from the municipal climate protection strategy.Promotion of e-mobility and quality of stay
The initiative should not only boost the switching of combustion vehicles, but also increase the quality of stay in the city. Because more time that visitors spend in Coburg is also more time for inpatient retail and gastronomy - you like to do good business! In addition to the regulations already described, there are some details that must also be observed. From April 1, 2025, the toll-free parking in many public parking spaces in Coburg in Coburg is bound to an e-license plate. However, alternatives to identification are offered.
A look at the current regulations shows that these can vary in the different parking zones. For example, in the Hindenburgstraße only 30 minutes with e-indicators can be parked, while in which avenue are possible up to 3 hours. The maximum parking times in the different areas are as follows:
Parkplatz Th>
maximum parking time Th>
| |
---|---|
Lossaustraße | 30 minutes |
Hindenburgstrasse 6 | 30 minutes |
Ketschengasse, Mohrenstraße, Webergasse | 60 minutes |
Hindenburgstrasse, Oberer Bürglass | 60 minutes |
various roads (e.g. Ahorner Straße, Kanalstraße) | 60 minutes |
Alexandrinenstrasse, Bahnhofstrasse, Wiesenstraße | 2 hours |
avenue (between Rosenauer Straße and Hahnweg) | 3 hours |
Authority parking lot Rittersteich | 4 hours |
Unfortunately, parking garages such as the Anger or Globe fall under the chargeable regulations, which reduces the incentives for electric drivers here. Nevertheless, Coburg is acted as a future -oriented, climate -conscious community that has been committed to want to get involved.
