Tragic bathing accident at Lake Staffel: 79-year-old still missing!

On Sunday afternoon, June 22, 2025, a tragic bathing accident at the Staffelsee in Seehausen occurred. A 79-year-old from Munich, who was on a pedal boat with a companion, fell into the water and could no longer get back on the boat. Despite the desperate attempts by his companion to save him, the man went under and has been missing since then.

Immediately after the incident, extensive search measures were initiated in which a helicopter, drones, divers of the water rescue and the fire brigade were involved. Unfortunately, all efforts have so far been unsuccessful. The criminal police have taken over the investigation, but so far there are no signs of external negligence - it is assumed from a tragic accident. The missing person remains unexpected.
