In the early Sunday morning, July 23, 2017, a 21-year-old woman in Rosenheim was the victim of a cruel sexual assault. The incident occurred on the dam to the Mangfall Canal when the woman was on her way home from the city center. An unknown man is said to have attacked and raped her.

The suspect was arrested in the Rosenheim district on June 10, 2025 after a decisive trace led to him.
