Raid against streaming fraudsters: five arrests and shocking revelations!

In a dramatic operation by the Weiden criminal police and the Cybercrime Bayern Central Office, nine objects were searched in early June 2025 and five men who are suspected of having illegally spread out paid streaming services such as Netflix. The overall operation mobilized over 100 emergency services and led to ensuring enormous amounts of data.

The suspects include three Germans, an Austrian and an Azerbaijani aged 25 to 27 years. Three of them were taken into custody, while the arrest warrant was lifted against a 25-year-old from Munich. However, the investigation continues, and there is still suspicion of a 25-year-old from Hamburg, whose arrest warrant has now been expanded for the serious sexual abuse of children. The focus of the investigation is a 25-year-old from the Tirschenreuth district as a suspected main perpetrator who remains in custody.
