Violence in Deggendorf: Asylum seekers threatened and injured with a knife!

In a dramatic discussion in an asylum seeker accommodation in Deggendorf, a 39-year-old was seriously injured on Saturday afternoon (July 12th, 2025). According to the first results of the investigation, the suspect got into a violent dispute, in which he initially started with a chair to another 39-year-old. In the further course he pulled a knife and added the victim to cut injuries on the arms while he also threatened with death.

The victim was able to escape the attack and alert the security service that informed the police. Both men received medical care and were taken to a hospital. The alleged attacker was temporarily arrested, and when he was searched for his apartment, the possibly used knife was secured. The Deggendorf public prosecutor has taken over the investigation into dangerous bodily harm. The arrest warrant was enforced on July 13, 2025, and the accused was brought to a correctional facility.
