There are unscrupulous fraudsters running around in Upper Franconia who charge horrendous prices for inferior craftsmanship. A stunned victim from the Forchheim district paid 18,000 euros for repair work on his canopy - an offer of almost a thousand euros, which became enormously more expensive after the work was "completed". The shocked man later reported the matter to the police, who are now investigating several cases of fraud.
Also alarming is another incident in which the crooks demanded over 20,000 euros. The Upper Franconian criminal police warn urgently about these fraudulent schemes and appeal to everyone to be suspicious and to check offers carefully so as not to fall victim to these devious tricks.
