Augsburg in the alarm: Fraudsters pretend to be an emergency at senior citizen!
On Wednesday, July 2, 2025, a woman from Augsburg was the victim of a sophisticated attempt at fraud. At around 3 p.m. she received a call from a supposed daughter who supposedly needed help after a serious accident. But the clever woman reacted quickly and alerted the integrated control center. There they immediately recognized the attempted fraud and advised them so that she did not cause any financial damage.
The police are now investigating attempted fraud and warns of these so -called shock calls, in which fraudsters try to unsettle older people through false stories and to bring money to hand over money. As part of the prevention campaign #NMMO, the Bavarian police call up all seniors to be careful and follow the following safety tips: The police will never request money from them that they should never hand over money to unknown persons and should always check personal information from return calls for official bodies. In the event of suspected cases, the police call 110 should be contacted immediately.
