Danger! Munich fraud stitch when selling a car - this is how you protect yourself!
Obergiesing, Deutschland - A 27-year-old Municher has been the victim of a perfidious car purchase fraud! The young man offered his used BMW on an online platform and was contacted by a supposed buyer. In order to create trust, he allegedly received official ID and proof of an instant transfer of several ten thousand euros. On Friday evening, July 4, 2025, the BMW was handed over by a pick -up, which also legitimized with documents.
The shock came quickly: The agreed purchase amount had never been received in the 27-year-old's account! After the incident, he filed a complaint with the police, who has now taken over the investigation. The Munich civil servants urgently warn of fraudsters who work with fake transfer and identity documents. They strongly advise sellers to only hand over their vehicle if the money is actually in the account. Caution should also be exercised if buyers do not want to visit the car personally or announce a transfer without price negotiations. Falls of this kind have been a nationwide problem for years!
