Stadtwerke Bayreuth: New campaign protects seniors from phone fraud!
In a remarkable step to combat telephone fraud, the police headquarters in Upper Franconia and Stadtwerke Bayreuth created a new prevention project. This project is part of the nationwide campaign #nmmo (non -mitermeineroma), which in particular is supposed to protect older people from that fraud stitch, in which perpetrators pretend to be police officers or official representatives. Information on this provides the Police press release .
In Bayreuth, the public local transport system is actively used to clarify postcreens by posters in city buses and short videos. This methodology aims to raise awareness of the dangers of call center fraud. In the past few months there has been a similar initiative in Upper Franconia, in which taxi drivers were well informed with information material. The police recommendations are clear: If you call unknown calls, you should be careful not to reveal any personal data and contact the police in case of doubt.
Together against fraud
The campaign is expanded by the support of Stadtwerke Bayreuth, which promises a distribution to other cities in Bavaria. A preventive video shows the story of a data subject and contains original tones of fraudsters to illustrate the severity and reality of the situation. About This link can view the video.
At the same time, the police in the Upper Palatinate also started a similar campaign entitled "Not with my grandpa, not with my grandma" (#nmmo). At a kick -off event at the Barbing primary school, around 70 pupils were sensitized, which were informed by a piece of dolls about the tricks of the fraudsters. Tips for grandparents strapped to postcards were designed in such a way that the children can take them home and discuss them with their grandparents. This is reported by the Tagesschau
