Richard Wagner: Discover his secret homes in 2025!

An exciting innovation is planned for Bayreuth on June 13, 2025: The Walk of Wagner will be expanded to include an important theme that revolves around the places of residence of the famous composer Richard Wagner. The focus is not only on the various apartments, but also on the hotels in which Wagner lived and the traces he left behind. The regions of Saxony, Franconia, Upper Bavaria, Bavarian Swabia, Lower Saxony, Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, Switzerland, Italy, Austria, Latvia and the Czech Republic are included. Fränkischer Tag reports on these multifaceted stages of his life.

The Walk of Wagner connects the authentic Wagner sites between Haus Wahnfried and the Festival Hall in Bayreuth. Here visitors can immerse themselves in the world of the composer and find out what his life and work place is like. A wide range of information about the original locations is presented not only in the form of 17 characteristic cubes that offer annually changing themes, but also in an accompanying leaflet that contains important stations and a section of the city map. This folding map is available at the Tourist Information at Opernstraße 22 and is also available for download on the Bayreuth Tourismus website, Bayreuth Tourismus.

A look into the Richard Wagner Museum

A not-negligible part of Wagner's legacy is the Richard Wagner Museum in Bayreuth, which is housed in Haus Wahnfried. This important museum of German cultural history invites you to delve into the depth of Wagner's life and work. This is not just about exhibitions, but also about experiencing its creative atmosphere. It tells an eventful history marked by ups and downs and offers an extensive range of permanent exhibitions and special events. A visit is an experience not only for Wagner connoisseurs, but also for interested newcomers who would like to be inspired by the many facets of this extraordinary composer, according to the Wagner Museum.

The Richard Wagner Foundation operates the museum and has set itself the goal of preserving, researching and making Wagner's legacy accessible. With its archive, collection and exhibition spaces, it is an important place for research and art. The large hall and the area for special exhibitions are also used for concerts and other cultural events, making the museum a lively part of Bayreuth's cultural scene.

In summary, the Walk of Wagner 2025 offers an excellent opportunity to learn more about the different stages of life of one of the greatest composers in music history. With many authentic places in and around Bayreuth and other regions, there will soon be more to discover.
