Large police operation in Bayreuth: Knife threat in accommodation!

On Saturday morning there was a dramatic police operation in a accommodation for homeless people in Cosima-Wagner-Straße in Bayreuth! The police alerted security employees because a 50-year-old man threatened other residents with a knife. The officials arrived shortly after 9 a.m., but the threat had already withdrawn into his room.

In order to ensure a secure situation, the adjacent rooms were evacuated, and the Cosima-Wagner-Straße in this area was closed. A special unit from Middle Franconia was even requested to support. Finally, the man could be arrested shortly after 12 noon without resistance. Due to its mental state, the threat was brought to a district hospital. There was no danger for the other residents and the surrounding population, and luckily there were no injuries!
