Festa Italica in Bayreuth: A festival for all the senses on the market square!

Things will soon be Italian in the charming city center of Bayreuth: from August 27th to 31st, 2025, the market square will be transformed into a lively piazza as part of the Festa Italica. The organizers, Zametzer & Krohn GbR, have developed a great concept that takes visitors on a five-day journey through the diverse Italian cuisine and culture without having to leave their own home. How Bayreuther Tagblatt reports, the event is supported by local Italian restaurateurs who present authentic food and drinks.

The Festa Italica is a tribute to the beauty and charm of Italy and is taking place in Bayreuth for the first time. The festival has previously been held in cities such as Bamberg, Erlangen and Nuremberg. To make the event even more exciting, there will also be a raffle in cooperation with bt's social media channels.

A feast for the senses

On the market square, guests can look forward to a wonderful selection of dishes: from delicious antipasti and hearty pasta al forno to crispy pizza and sweet dolci. To pamper the palates of Italy lovers, there are around 20 different wines to choose from. A variety of other drinks are also available, including refreshing beer, Italian mixed drinks such as Aperol Spritz and non-alcoholic options such as Aranciata.

The organizers have put together a varied music program for each of the five days, ranging from Italian pop hits to classic dance tunes. The festival starts on Wednesday, August 27th, with the grand opening and the Italian party band G2. On Thursday, the event offers the opportunity to indulge in carbonara classics and oldies, while on Friday the Milanese singer-songwriter Marco Augusto & Band will perform. A special highlight will be Saturday with the Rossinis, who will present an enjoyable mix of Italian, Latin American and rock'n'roll sounds. The crowning finale on Sunday is the father-son duo Dad'n Son, followed by the Morenos with their catchy hits by Adriano Celentano, Eros Ramazotti and Zucchero.

The market square becomes the focus

To perfectly round off the Italian atmosphere, the market square is decorated with classic Vespas and antique wine presses. With these loving details, the organizers create an inviting backdrop that immerses festival visitors in Italian culture.
