What a celebration in Bamberg! The 25th edition of the “Bamberg conjures up” festival will take place from July 18th to 20th, 2025, and the anticipation in the city is huge. Over 250,000 visitors come together every year to experience international street art in the picturesque setting of the historic old town, which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. This entry-free festival is one of the largest of its kind in Europe and attracts artists from all over the world. Organized by the Zauberfreunde Bamberg and Bamberg City Marketing, the event is all about magic, artistry, music and juggling. A real highlight for young and old!
The program promises plenty of entertainment with more than 20 open-air stages on which around 100 renowned artists will show off their skills. The popular events include the “Magic Nights” and the young talent stages, where young talents make their first appearances. The festival starts on Friday at 5 p.m. with a concert by the Bamberg rap combo Bambägga, followed by a colorful supporting program and a magical night that enchants viewers until midnight.

Over 300 free shows will bring the streets to life over the three days. The festival follows the principle of “hat money”, whereby the artists do not receive a fee but rely on donations from the audience. To support the event, festival badges are available for 3 euros. This money goes directly to financing the free programs for all visitors. In addition, Stadtmarketing Bamberg covers all accommodation, meals and travel costs for the performing artists in order to enable them to have a worry-free performance.
Security and arrival
A well thought-out security concept ensures the safety of everyone present. Several security teams are on site and there are central contact points for emergencies as well as toilet and medical stations on the festival site. The organizers recommend traveling by public transport or carpooling if possible to reduce the pressure on the old town and make the visit even more pleasant.
Preparations for the anniversary festival are in full swing and the artists are already in the starting blocks. Expected to perform include Anja Herrmann, the Batacazo Company, Drums on Fire and many other talented acts.
