This dilapidated footbridge, which has been closed for over eight years, is located about 500 meters east of the Eiringsburg ruins and leads over the railway tracks on the Bad Kissingen – Gemünden route. The original purpose of the footbridge was to provide hikers with easy access to one of the region's most popular destinations. However, it is now clear that his days are numbered, like that Main Post reported.
The Wittelsbach Tower: A historical landmark
From the dilapidated footbridge, hikers always have a breathtaking view of the Wittelsbach Tower, which, at 33 meters high, looks back on a long history. It was inaugurated on September 15, 1907 and continues to demonstrate the appreciation for the region to this day. The tower was built by Dr. Wendelin Dietz suggested to replace the inadequate view from the Ludwigsturm.
