Aschaffenburg starts health initiative for migrants!
In the city of Aschaffenburg something is happening! As part of the Bavarian health project "Mimi - with migrants for migrants", four dedicated volunteers are trained to intercultural health mediators. This project aims to inform immigrant people about health issues so that they receive better access to relevant information. As Aschaffenburg.news reports, the training includes basic knowledge of health and prevention issues, including diabetes, vaccinations and healthy eating.
The training will enable the participants to plan, carry out and evaluate information events in their language of origin. After successfully completed training, the volunteers receive a certificate of participation. This project is funded by the Bavarian State Ministry of Health, Care and Prevention and receives support from MSD Sharp & Dohme GmbH.
An important part of the health Initiative
"Mimi" is not just another project, but an important part of the Bavarian health initiative "Gesund.leben.bayern.". The initiative was developed in 2003 to reduce barriers to access to regular health care and to promote self -responsibility among migrants: inside. "Mimi" has been implemented nationwide in Bavaria since 2008, and 695 intercultural health mediators have already been trained in recent years. This also reports the information on the project's homepage at mimi.bayern .
The 50-hour training also includes content on the German health system, vaccination protection, mental health and many other topics that are of great importance for the target group. There are also regular specialization training on various health issues that impart additional knowledge to the mediators.
a network for health and integration
The Ethno Medical Center e. V., which leads the implementation of the project, works closely with numerous partners that include health, social and educational institutions. This cooperation is crucial to build a far -reaching network for health and integration. In addition, the extensive public relations work through publications and specialist conferences ensures that the messages of "Mimi" are widespread, as can be widespread on mimi-lernzentrum.de
The city of Aschaffenburg and its committed volunteers are on the best way to make a valuable contribution to improving migrants' health competence: inside. This project shows that good cooperation in society is also important in healthcare. We can be excited to see how the "Mimi" project will develop and what positive effects it can have on the community.
