Experience the lifestyle and the joy of dining” at BIMO: guided tour on November 14th!
In the region around Amberg-Sulzbach there will soon be the opportunity to immerse yourself in the world of glass, porcelain and earthenware art. On November 14th, a public tour of the new permanent exhibition “Lifestyle and the Joy of Table” will take place in the East Bavaria Mining and Industrial Museum (BIMO). The event starts at 3:30 p.m. and lasts around 1.5 hours. For just 6 euros per person, those interested can discover the diversity and aesthetics of regional ceramic art.
Under the expert guidance of local guide Cornelia Platz, visitors are introduced to the food culture and table manners of bygone times. The exhibition not only shows the valuable exhibits, but also artfully set tables, which provide a fascinating insight into the traditions of the Upper Palatinate, Upper Franconia and Bohemia. The meeting point is at the entrance to the museum, which is located in the Theuern Cultural Palace. According to the Oberpfalz Echo, this is a wonderful opportunity to celebrate the region's significant cultural diversity - an aspect that Oberpfalz Daheim also highlights.
Diverse food culture and table manners
The food culture in Germany is colorful and diverse, characterized by regional dishes and traditions. Many German dishes reflect local ingredients and customs - a theme that will also comment on the upcoming exhibition at BIMO. Traditional German cuisine includes not only meat and potatoes, but also a variety of breads that keep the culinary heritage alive. Just think of the large selection of bread, from rye bread to pretzels, which should not be missing from any celebratory table.
Interesting anecdotes about table manners, such as waiting for the host's signal to toast and the importance of punctuality when eating, will enrich the tour. Because in Germany, good behavior at the table is an art in itself. Guests can come to the invitation with a small gift, which further underlines the social experience - a practice that also applies to invitations to tour the BIMO.
Anyone visiting the region should also be enchanted by the seasonal delicacies. From asparagus in spring to culinary delights at Christmas markets, there is something for everyone. Beer gardens, in which the region's special beer culture is celebrated, round off the culinary experience and show how deeply rooted the food culture is in the Bavarian way of life.
The tour of BIMO not only offers an excellent insight into the artistic craft of table culture, but also an opportunity to reflect on the eating habits of the past. So if you want to immerse yourself in a tasteful afternoon, you shouldn't miss this event!
