B300 near Aichach: Closed from Monday – bridge work starts!
In Aichach there is important repair work on the B300 federal highway, which will be carried out from Monday, August 25th to Friday, September 6th. As the Augsburger Allgemeine reported, the work on the bridge over the state road ST2047 is literally overdue, as water is penetrating the components and endangering the safety of road users.
The traffic diversions have already been set up. Drivers traveling towards Dasing are asked to avoid Aichach. The diversion route leads from the Aichach-Süd (Klingen) junction via Münchener Straße, through the roundabout and Theodor-Heuss-Straße, before continuing via Augsburger Straße back to the B300 at the Aichach-West (Tränkmühle) junction. Meanwhile, traffic heading north, i.e. towards Schrobenhausen, continues to pass on the bridge in order to avoid major traffic disruptions.
Renovation process in detail
The bridge will be renovated in several steps. First, the road surface on one half of the bridge is removed in narrow strips, damaged components must be removed and the surface resealed. A new road surface is then installed in several layers. Once this work has been completed, the second half of the bridge will also be renovated using the same procedure. However, if the weather doesn't cooperate, the dates could be postponed.
