Rally to the Old Town Festival: Cyclists collect kilometers in Altmühlfranken!

The third week of the popular CITY CYCLING in Altmühlfranken begins on July 22nd, 2025. Until July 26, 2025, all participants have the opportunity to continue collecting their cycling kilometers and give their best. Important: The kilometers collected can still be added until August 9, 2025. The initiative, which calls for people to get on their bikes for more climate awareness and a healthy lifestyle, has already been supported by 2,037 participants. Over 1,629 cyclists have already diligently racked up kilometers, resulting in an impressive total of 287,325 kilometers cycled and a CO² reduction of around 47 tonnes. This all reported Franconian.

The attractiveness of CITY CYCLING is obvious. Participants can look forward to a diverse program throughout the entire campaign period. The rally to the old town festival in Weißenburg, which took place on July 19, 2025, shows that it is not just individual kilometers that count, but also the community. Around 70 cyclists from the district took part and received vouchers for a cyclist or a non-alcoholic drink from the Pröls brewery for their efforts. Such events not only promote cycling, but also social cohesion in the community.

Last week's program

There are still some exciting events coming up in the last week of the campaign, especially in the communities of Pleinfeld and Absberg. In addition to the group trips from Absberg, Gunzenhausen, Nennslingen, Pfofeld and Treuchtlingen to Weißenburg, there will be numerous other activities. If you don't have the internet, you can also get help recording kilometers using a km registration form, so that everyone can take part, whether online or offline.

District Administrator Manuel Westphal cordially invites all cyclists to take part in the planned activities. Registration for new participants is possible at any time during the campaign period - a great opportunity for everyone who lives, works or goes to school in the district.
