Citizens asked: Online survey on the future of the Auerbergland-Pfaffenwinkel!
The pulsating heartbeat of the Auerbergland and Pfaffenwinkel will not be forgotten: The Local Action Group (LAG) Auerbergland-Pfaffenwinkel is calling on citizens to take part in an online survey. The aim of this survey is to record the population's opinions on the further development of the region and to collect projects that will make life here even more livable. This initiative takes place as part of the interim evaluation of the LEADER funding period 2023-2027 and citizens are invited to actively contribute their ideas and wishes.
As the LAG website reports, the LAG would like to use this survey to get an honest picture of the population's mood. Managing director Elisabeth Gutmann emphasizes how important citizen participation is for the LAG's further work. The feedback, which will be collected by February 8, 2026, should actually provide new impetus for the development of the region. The survey is anonymous and can be completed online in just a few minutes. If you would like to take part, you can find the survey on the website www.auerbergland-pfaffenwinkel.de.
LEADER: More than just funding
But why is LEADER funding so crucial, especially for rural regions like the Auerbergland? The national CAP strategic plan 2023-2027 is part of the European common agricultural policy and plays a central role in the development of rural areas. As can be read on the BMLUK website, LEADER not only supports communities in implementing their strategies, but also helps to make rural areas more attractive.
Communities form local action groups that develop a local development strategy (LES). This strategy defines the areas of action that are important for the region: from increasing value creation to climate protection and preserving cultural heritage. These are important aspects that not only strengthen regional identity, but also open up new economic perspectives.
Together into the future
LEADER supports projects that are intended to advance the region. It's about recognizing local potential and finding sustainable solutions, explains the LEADER website. The focus is on innovation and the collaboration of many actors, be it in communities, companies or committed citizens. The projects must fit with the LES and advance the region both economically and socially.
Overall, considerable funds are available for the 2023-2027 program period, which will also be used for novel Smart Village projects to develop digital solutions for local challenges. This is particularly important for many rural communities that want to adapt to the changing demands of today.
The online survey and the associated developments of LEADER funding offer the population in Auerbergland a valuable opportunity to actively participate in shaping their region. Citizens’ voices are more in demand than ever. Join in and share your ideas!
