Schwandorf Citizens' Festival 2025: Celebrate, feast and be amazed!

We have a special celebration coming up! From July 11th to 13th, 2025, Schwandorf will once again be the venue for the popular community festival. Loud mittelbayerische.de Mayor Andreas Feller will ceremoniously open the festival on Friday at 6 p.m. In the festive atmosphere of the city center, which this year includes a total of eight festival areas, visitors can look forward to a varied program.

There's something going on! After Schlesierplatz was closed in 2023 due to extensive construction work, it is now enjoying great popularity again. Here and in other places the city center will invite you to stroll and celebrate. The festival takes place over three days: on Friday from 6 p.m. to midnight, on Saturday from 4 p.m. to midnight and on Sunday from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. - for early risers there is also a service on Sunday morning at 10:30 a.m.

Diverse program for young and old

An exciting supporting program for the whole family is offered in the city park. Highlights such as the SV Schwandorf-Ettmannsdorf sports arena with hands-on activities, a canoe club activity on Sunday and a lantern trip on the Naab on Saturday evening are on the agenda. For early risers there is the traditional Kocherlball on Saturday from 6 a.m.

Children also get their money's worth. The ARGE youth organizes a play street with craft stations, face painting and a clown theater. The little ones can also take part in the children's paddling at the canoe club on Sunday. This makes every day an experience!

Music and cuisine attract numerous visitors

Of course there is also a lot to experience musically. The Bubach brass band and Pina Coladas ensure a good atmosphere on Friday, while brass music with Andreas Königsberger and the band Kulticz perform on Saturday. Sunday brings revelers a colorful mix of tasty music, 4fun and rocking sounds from the beachcombers. The lower market square turns into a party mile with various bands that are guaranteed to put you in a good mood.

A festival like this is always a question of taste. The culinary stalls offer a variety of delicacies, from Thai dishes to langos and burgers to crepes and tree strezel. Everyone is sure to find something to their liking here!

Important information for visitors

Practical information: From Friday, July 11th at 6 a.m., many streets in the city center will be closed. However, residents, traders and delivery traffic are exempt from these measures. Parking is available in municipal parking garages and on the Volksfestplatz – and it’s free! Special disabled parking spaces have also been set up in several locations.
