Tigers triumph: Perfect 6-point weekend in Straubing!

A brilliant weekend for the Straubing Tigers! After a strong 1-0 home win against Schwenningen, the Tigers followed up yesterday and won against the Grizzlys Wolfsburg 5-2. This rounds off a perfect 6-point weekend. The approximately 3,315 spectators in the Straubing Arena saw a thrilling game with a lot of pace and action.

The game started with a lot of pressure from the Tigers, who forced the Grizzlys into defense early on. In the 2nd minute, Justin Scott made it 1-0 for the hosts with an early goal. Supported by Allison and Leonhardt, Scott showed his class and made his first statement. But the guests from Wolfsburg didn't stay shocked for long; Spencer Machacek equalized in the 10th minute, assisted by Gaudet.

A game full of twists

However, the Tigers were unimpressed and went ahead again in the 29th minute. Tim Fleischer scored in the power play and had the fans cheering. Halloran and Leslie laid the groundwork. In the 35th minute the next blow came to Wolfsburg. Nick Halloran took advantage of a Grizzly mistake and increased the score to 3-1, giving the team additional momentum.

But Wolfsburg didn’t give up either. Shortly before the second period break, Julian Choupani reduced the score to 3:2 on the power play, assisted by Gaudet and Prow. Still, the Tigers had momentum on their side. Immediately after the restart, Justin Scott put the team back on the road to victory with his second goal (41st minute, assist: Halloran). Danjo Leonhardt finally crowned the team's performance in the 59th minute with a goal while outnumbered, which sealed the final score of 5:2.

Outlook for the next games

The Tigers have positioned themselves impressively in the table and show that they are a serious opponent this season. The next challenges are already waiting: On October 17th, the team will face the Iserlohn Roosters, followed by an away game against the Kölner Haie on October 19th and the game against the Dresdner Eislöwen on October 24th.
