Something wonderful is happening in the Schwandorf city park! From November 28th, 2025 to January 6th, 2026, the park will be transformed into a wintry magic land where young and old alike will get their money's worth. The very first winter magic is organized by the city of Schwandorf, the ARGE Christmas market and the Stadtmarketing Schwandorf e. V. organized. A visit here is guaranteed to be an unforgettable experience!

The spectacular ice skating rink is particularly in focus. With an exciting area of300 square metersIt offers enough space for everyone who wants to enjoy the glittering ice cream. The train is surrounded by the beautiful backdrop of the Christmas market, which only reinforces the pre-Christmas atmosphere. Tickets will be available from November 28, 2025 from 9:00 a.m., both on site and online. School classes even have the opportunity to use the train exclusively before regular opening hours, which is a real highlight. Skate rentals are also available on site, with sizes from 28 to 49 and additional accessories such as skates, helmets and elbow and knee pads.

A supporting program for all senses

But the winter magic has much more to offer! Upper Palatinate Echo reports on a varied supporting program. For example, visitors can expect live music and diverse performances by Perchten groups, ice carvers and stilt walkers. The culmination of the event will be onNew Year's Eve(December 31, 2025) a party with DJ from 10 p.m. Families can also look forward to a special children's program from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m., followed by an impressive laser show to welcome in the New Year.

The event opening hours are Monday to Thursday from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. and Friday and Saturday from 2 p.m. to 9 p.m. On Sunday from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. you have the opportunity to visit the winter magic. The exceptions to these times are December 24, 2025, December 25, 2025 and January 1, 2026, when the market will be closed.

The culinary experience

The culinary diversity is another highlight of the winter magic. Visitors can enjoy delicious food and drinks at around 30 stands. New offerings include pizza-like dishes, tapas and a special pretzel bakery. The craft market is enriched by changing exhibitors at the weekend. This means everyone can find something they like – be it handicrafts or Christmas treats.

Mayor Andreas Feller thanked everyone involved for their commitment and it is not surprising, as the preparations for this special market require many helping hands.
