Volunteering in the district and beyond

The importance of volunteering extends to all levels of society. According to information from Statista over 47 percent of people over the age of 14 voluntarily and free of charge. This form of commitment includes not only the fire department and the Red Cross, but also a variety of sports clubs, church communities, food banks and other social initiatives. More and more people are also making their time available for voluntary services such as the FSJ or the Federal Voluntary Service.

Volunteering is more than just an individual commitment - it is a supporting pillar of our society, which repeatedly shows in crisis situations how important solidarity and assistance are. The fact that the recognition of these achievements is so important is impressively underlined in Schwandorf.
