The Roth family: A sporting Christmas miracle in Hünfeld!

Sport and family are the focus of the Roths from Hünfeld. On December 26, 2025, Lilli and Lotta Roth, active track and field athletes at Hünfelder SV, will look back proudly on their sporting successes. The two sisters will not only take part in competitions in their homeland, but also at TLV Eichenzell. Her committed mother, Viktoria Roth, who not only works as an athlete but also as a referee with special qualifications, plays a crucial role in this. Her training as a chairwoman enables her to organize events and she enjoys accompanying her daughters to competitions - a commitment of over 9,000 kilometers throughout Germany.

The assessment of various sports associations also shows how important referees are in sport. Loud FLVW Referees are indispensable at athletics events. They record times, measure heights and distances and ensure equal opportunities during the competitions. A well-organized system is essential to ensure the quality and fairness of the events.

Father Florian and his sporting commitment

Father Florian Roth, sporting director of SG Eiterfeld/Leimbach, also has an impressive sporting career. With positions in the Oberliga Hessen and as a coach at various clubs, he brings a lot of experience to the family. His goal is to strengthen the regional league not only for the club, but also for the entire region. He would like to see fan festivals in the 3rd league to promote community around the sport. He has also been working as a self-employed tax consultant at the Eiterfeld town hall for two years and also uses this position to integrate young talent from the region.

The integration of young players is Florian’s top priority. He relies on continuity in the team and sees the development of the players as the key to long-term success. In doing so, he hits the nerve of the times in the football scene, where youth development is of utmost importance.

A look at referee training

The subject of referee training is closely interwoven with the future of the sport. The Brandenburg Athletics Association e.V. is actively looking for judges, who monitor the rules at competitions. Those interested must be at least 16 years old and a member of a club. The training takes place in the form of a course, followed by a theoretical exam, which awards the candidates a license. This license can be expanded with additional training, such as for specific tasks such as starter or walking judge.

The association offers basic training annually, and additional information is available online so that those interested can find out everything they need to know about the training and requirements.

These stories from the world of sports, like those of the Roth family, impressively show how strong the bond between families and sports clubs is. Whether on the field or in the organization – enthusiasm and dedication are the focus. It remains to be seen what successes the Roths and their sports colleagues will achieve in the coming year!
