Eisbären Regensburg welcome Düsseldorf in a thrilling Christmas duel!

On Tuesday, December 23, 2025, the Donau-Arena in Regensburg will once again be the venue for a highly anticipated ice hockey clash. The Eisbären Regensburg will meet Düsseldorfer EG in their last home game of 2025, with the game starting at 8:00 p.m. Interest is high and many fans are expected to fill the arena as there is already high demand for tickets, as Eisbären Regensburg reports.

The doors open two hours before the game. The fan zone will be open from 6 p.m., while the entrances for season ticket holders and VIPs will be ready 105 minutes before the first face-off. All other spectators can enter the arena via the East and West entrances from 90 minutes before the start of the game. Tickets are available online at www.ebr.live and at the box office while stocks last. If you are still looking for a gift for polar bear fans, you will also find nice Christmas surprises in the fan shop under B9. The game will also be broadcast live on SportEuropeTV.

The opponent in detail

The Düsseldorfer EG, currently in 12th place in the DEL-2 table with 34 points, comes into the game with the motivation to rehabilitate themselves after an ugly series of six defeats from the last seven games. Eishockey Magazin highlights that Düsseldorf has conceded a total of 30 goals in the last few games, which shows that the defense is under huge pressure. The last encounter with the Blue Devils Weiden also ended with a clear 0:5 defeat, and the game against EHC Freiburg was also lost 1:3.

There was a change in the coaching team: The previous head coach Rich Chernomaz was replaced by Harry Lange, who previously gained experience in Bad Nauheim. With a squad that includes some experienced players like Max Balinson, Nicolas Geitner and captain Maximilian Faber, the team is hoping for a positive turnaround. Faber in particular has already caused a stir with four goals and twelve assists this season.

Stats and history of the teams

Regensburg can look back on an eventful season: After a narrow 3-4 defeat against Krefeld, the Eisbären hope to get back on the road to success against Düsseldorf. The first duel in Düsseldorf ended in a 6-1 defeat, but Regensburg won 2-1 in overtime in another encounter. Regensburg is currently in 7th place in the table with 40 points, which is a solid performance.

Unfortunately, Regensburg has to do without some key players. Constantin Ontl and David Morley are injured and Jakob Weber will not play due to illness. With this starting position, it is up to the remaining players to inspire the fans in the Donau-Arena with a strong performance.

There is great anticipation for an exciting Christmas village in Regensburg, and all ice hockey fans are invited to experience this memorable evening together. Further information about the teams and current news from the DEL-2 can be found at DEL 2.
