Pfaffenhofen celebrates Green Gold” at the Green Week in Berlin!
Green Week in Berlin is in full swing and is attracting numerous visitors. From January 16th to 25th, 2026, the Pfaffenhofen a.d.Ilm district will be presenting itself at this important trade fair, which is taking place for the 100th time this year. The focus is on the topics of climate protection, circular economy and resource-saving land use. The municipal company Structural Development District Pfaffenhofen (KUS) is responsible for this appearance, where the region and its products can be experienced up close. The KUS board member Johannes Hofner and project manager Britta Lemloh welcomed, among others, the Bavarian State Minister Michaela Kaniber at the stand, as pafunddu.de reports.
Hops, which are considered the region’s “green gold,” are particularly in the spotlight. The trade fair appearance is supported by partners such as the Hop Growers Association Hallertau e.V., the Hallertau Hop Queen and local breweries, including the Scheyern monastery brewery and Müllerbräu. District Administrator Albert Gürtner had the opportunity to look around and was pleased to see that the halls were well attended. There were lively discussions and keen interest in topics relating to hops, as kus-pfaffenhofen.de reported.
Hops in all its facets
The district's stand provides information about the diversity of hops, from harvesting to home cultivation to use as a medicinal plant. The presentations generated great interest and lively exchange among visitors. On special days, the exhibition is further enlivened by the German Hop Museum and the towns of Geisenfeld and Vohburg. Another highlight follows with the joint appearance of the city and the district of Freising, which takes place between January 23rd and 25th.
The trade fair appearance not only offers a platform for presenting regional products, but also an insight into the many possibilities that the district has to offer. This includes excursion destinations, cycling and hiking trails as well as overnight accommodation, which are in the foreground on days outside of the special hop program.
Sustainability as a central topic
Nowadays, awareness of environmental and climate protection is becoming increasingly important. Trade fairs like Green Week play an important role in promoting sustainable practices and driving innovation. In addition to hops, a lot revolves around the topics of renewable energy and environmentally friendly technologies. Organizers and exhibitors are committed to arousing interest in sustainable solutions, as nachhaltig4future.de highlights in their report. Workshops, lectures and networking opportunities offer a platform for exchange between experts, companies and interested citizens.
The trade fair opens its doors daily from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., and on January 23rd even until 8 p.m. Visitors are warmly invited to find out more about the Pfaffenhofen region and its sustainable offerings at stand B222 in Hall 22b. Information and tickets are available on the Green Week website.
