Violent attacks in Passau: 13-year-olds injured with a glass bottle!
Passau, Deutschland - On Friday evening, June 29, 2025, a 13-year-old girl was victims of violent attack in Passau. The incident occurred around 7.15 p.m. in the area of the Schanzlturm, where the girl was traveling with a group of young people. Suddenly a group of three strangers approached, and one of the men suddenly hit the girl in the face. The girl suffered a laceration and had to be treated on an outpatient basis in the hospital. After the crime the group of perpetrators fled, and the police are now looking for the three unknowns and asks for clues under 0851/9511-0.
In the middle of the shock moment of this disgusting act, another incident brewed together in the city. On the same evening, a 19-year-old was punched in the face in the area of the ZOB by a stranger. The young man was shopping when he was taken to a sweat box by a perpetrator. Fortunately, he managed to escape, but the attacker followed him, grabbed him on the T-shirt while the garment tore, and gave him two punches. Such incidents are anything but individual cases and throw a bright light on the current situation in Passau.
A look at youth crime
The concerns about the increase in violence among young people are not new. Studies show that in cities like Berlin over 70% of young people are never striking. Nevertheless, there is a worrying increase in crimes, especially vandalism or shoplifting. According to an investigation, four out of five young people have already committed a criminal offense, which leads to the question: What's going on with our youth? It becomes clear that the pandemic had a negative impact on the social behavior of young people because many years have lost social experiences.
Especially in the inhibitions of young people, an increased influence of social media can be observed, where bullying and violence are documented and distributed. The schools in North Rhine-Westphalia recorded more than 5,400 violent offenses in 2022 alone, which means an increase of more than 50% since 2019. Similar tendencies could be observed here in Passau, which affect the increasing reports on youth crime.
legal consequences in the region
Another current topic is the legal consequences in Passau, such as in the case of a truck driver who was convicted of negligent killing. Due to his carelessness, he had endangered the lives of a mother and her child, which caused excitement in the city. Such cases show that the judiciary is not only very sensitive to violent offenses, but also to other criminal acts and always endeavors to ensure the security of the citizens. It is to be hoped that both young people and general crime can be reduced in the city.
It is of the utmost importance for those affected and the entire community that such incidents do not become normal. While the police and judiciary do their best, the question of the responsibility of parents and schools in the prevention of violence among young people also remains. With a watchful look and a clear commitment to security, it can perhaps be achieved that the tragedies, such as those in Passau, do not repeat.
