The agricultural landscape in Bavaria should soon feel a breath of fresh air: in the Nuremberg eco-model region Funding for innovative agricultural projects can be applied for until January 22, 2026. Up to 10,000 euros per project are available to support ecologically valuable ideas.
The extension of the deadline gives farmers and small business owners more time to submit their creative concepts. The Bavaria-wide funding program aims to promote small, practical projects that contribute to organic farming and regional value creation. Applications are possible for projects with net expenditure between 1,000 and 20,000 euros, with grants of up to 50 percent of the eligible costs being granted.
Diverse project ideas requested
The projects supported so far include exciting examples such as a mobile organic coffee bar, digital sales structures for direct marketing and the equipment of farm shops and learning rooms. These initiatives are intended not only to strengthen the production and marketing of organic food, but also to raise awareness of regional products.

Eco model regions throughout Germany
A look beyond the Bavarian borders shows that similar initiatives are also flourishing in other federal states. These are exemplary Eco model regions in Brandenburg, which is supported with funding of up to 1.5 million euros from the Ministry of Agriculture and Food. These programs aim to promote organic farming and regional value creation.
In Brandenburg, the Havelland and Prignitz-Ruppin regions are concentrating on improving sales channels for regional organic products and communicating cultivation strategies. Work is underway to create clear, transparent and sustainable value chains.
A vision for sustainable agriculture
Work is being done across Germany to improve the quality of life in rural areas. About the funding programs of the Federal Agency for Agriculture and nutrition, projects can be supported that not only preserve the status quo, but also pursue innovative approaches to increasing the attractiveness of rural life. With funding of up to 300,000 euros per project, not only agriculture is being regenerated, but also the community structure in rural areas.
