Nuremberg Christmas Market 2025: A Christmas miracle for all the senses!

The Nuremberg Christkindlesmarkt is one of the best-known and most popular Christmas markets in Germany and has a lot to offer again in 2025. From today, November 29th to December 24th, 2025, the main market in the old town will be transformed into a festive paradise full of traditional crafts and Christmas delights. The roots of this special market go back to the time of the Reformation, which makes it a historical highlight during Advent.

With around 160 lovingly decorated wooden stalls, adorned with red and white roofs, visitors will find a variety of traditional goods. Handcrafted Christmas decorations, nativity figures, the famous gold angels and the cute plum men, which are made from dried fruits, are particularly popular. By the way: During the market, visitors can marvel at the legendary Rauschgoldengel, which has its roots in the 16th century.

Special events and attractions

The pre-Christmas hustle and bustle in the city begins with the festive opening on November 28th at 5:30 p.m., which will be celebrated with a prologue from the balcony of the Frauenkirche. The market's opening hours are Monday to Sunday from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m., and on Christmas Eve the stalls give out the last gifts as early as 2 p.m.

In addition to the Christkindlesmarkt, the Nuremberg Children's Christmas will take place from November 29th to December 30th, 2025. Here the little ones can ride on a nostalgic merry-go-round, entrust their wishes to Santa Claus or let off steam creatively in the various themed houses such as bakeries and candle workshops.

A real insider tip is the Twin Cities Market, which opens its doors from November 29th to December 23rd. Here you can discover culinary delicacies and handicrafts from Nuremberg's eleven twin cities.

Memories and pleasures

Nuremberg is not only the location for one of the most traditional Christmas markets, but also promises an atmosphere that is full of childhood memories. The scent of anise, cinnamon and cloves fills the air as street musicians play old Christmas carols. There are also the famous Nuremberg gingerbreads, which are refined with exotic spices and make every Christmas lover's heart beat faster.

The nativity scene exhibition, which can be visited from November 29th to January 6th, 2026, rounds off the offer and shows a variety of impressive nativity scenes that will amaze visitors. There's something for everyone here - from high-quality Christmas concerts to original gifts in the city's exclusive boutiques.
