Winter road conditions and the anticipation of Christmas caused some unpleasant surprises in the Schrobenhausen region on Christmas Eve. Several traffic accidents occurred due to the slippery state roads like the Danube Courier reported. In the accidents that were caused by improper speed on slippery roads, there was a total of one person injured and significant property damage.
At around 8 p.m., a 26-year-old driver from Schrobenhausen lost control of his vehicle in a left-hand bend on state road 2050 between Aresing and Schrobenhausen. His car overturned and then ended up on its roof. The driver was taken to hospital with minor injuries while the vehicle had to be towed.
More accidents and hit-and-runs
But the incidents did not end there. While the police were busy investigating the accident, officers discovered another accident at the same location: an unknown vehicle had left State Road 2046 between 6 p.m. and 9:30 p.m., crossed State Road 2044 and ended up in an adjacent field, damaging a sign and the field.
