On Sunday morning, June 24, 2025, a basement fire occurred in the Ludwigsfeld district of Neu-Ulm, which caused a stir. At around 5 a.m., an alert neighbor alerted the fire department after she noticed smoke. Around 40 firefighters, including emergency services from the main guard station as well as from Ludwigsfeld and Gerlenhofen, immediately moved out to fight the fire Ulm News reported.
