Culture boom in Mühldorf: Full house and enthusiastic visitors in 2025!

In 2025, the cultural scene in Mühldorf and Waldkraiburg will be in good shape. How Innsalzach24 reported that Mühldorf was able to attract almost 27,000 visitors, which is around 2,000 more than the previous year. This number shows that interest in cultural events is high again after the losses caused by the pandemic. The city is also planning big things in cabaret and music for 2026, with performances by well-known artists such as Abdelkarim and Joja Wendt.

The year was marked by a great summer festival in the Haberkasten inner courtyard, where five of the ten events were sold out. Stars like Christina Sturmer and Glasperlenspiel thrilled the audience. The LOL stand-up comedy show and the Brettlboden events with Michael Altinger also attracted many young people. The cultural wealth of this city has visibly increased in popularity, which is also reflected in the stable income of Waldkraiburg's cultural scene.

Old Town Festival delights the crowds

Another highlight was the Old Town Festival on June 28, 2025, which attracted over 30,000 visitors. Despite the mid-summer temperatures of over 30 degrees during the day and a pleasant 28 degrees at night, the celebrations flourished. Police noted that the festival was largely trouble-free, aside from one physical altercation and a few minor incidents. Mayor Michael Hetzl was satisfied with how things went and thanked everyone involved, from the fire department to BRK Mühldorf.

The program included an extensive children's area with activities such as magic clowns and bungee jumping. Six stages were occupied, including performances by the Altmühldorf brass band and a popular Bayern3 band. A new highlight was the “MeiVerein dialect stage” at Altöttinger Tor, which was very well received by festival visitors.

Insights into the Bavarian cultural landscape

These positive developments cannot only be observed in Mühldorf and Waldkraiburg. A look at the Bavarian cultural scene shows that after the pandemic-related declines, the numbers are increasing again. How Statistics Bavaria notes, the number of concert visits in Bavaria increased by 171.5 percent in 2021/22. This underlines the growing interest in cultural events in the Free State.

In summary, it can be said that Mühldorf and Waldkraiburg are not only on the right track, but are also optimistic about the future. For the coming year, we can look forward to exciting events and artists who will further enrich the region's cultural offerings.
