Generational change in the DGB Miesbach: New leadership for social justice!

The Miesbach district association of the German Trade Union Confederation (DGB) has been reconstituted in Valley. A significant generational change was initiated at a meeting in the Bartewirt, marking the start of a new term of office. All members were freshly nominated by the individual unions and the election brought with it some changes in the leadership team. The re-elected chairman Jakob Falkenhahn of ver.di is supported by Angela Falkenhahn (IG BCE) as the new deputy chairman. A really exciting moment for union representation in the district!

The district association has set its sights on clear issues. The focus is on social justice, co-determination and an active commitment against racism and right-wing extremism. “We want to increase the visibility of the unions in the district,” emphasizes Falkenhahn emphatically and looks optimistically to the year 2026, in which new activities are planned. According to the WSI, the DGB sees major challenges ahead, particularly due to ecological, digital, demographic and geopolitical change. The DGB's aim is to help shape these changes democratically and fairly.

A look into the past

Like so many organizations, the DGB is struggling to stay relevant and meet the challenges in a fast-moving world. This requires commitment and the willingness to adapt your own structures if necessary.

Common goal for the future

The newly elected leadership of the DGB Miesbach district association will have their hands full to achieve the goals they have set. The combination of experience and new enthusiasm could be the key to success. The members are keeping their fingers crossed for the new management team that they have a good hand and can make the union in the district future-proof.

With a clear commitment to the values of social justice and participation, the Miesbach district association will face the challenges of the future. A certain amount of perseverance will be required here, but the certainty that we are strong as a community will motivate everyone.
