Main entrance at the district office closed: new access barrier -free!
Main-Spessart, Deutschland - The Main-Spessart district office continues to progress in the renewal of its facilities. From Wednesday, July 23, 2025, the main entrance will be closed again to complete the last remaining work. The sliding door that the old wooden door replaced could soon shine in full shine for all visitors. The work also affects the week from July 28th to August 1, 2025.
However, there is a plan B for visitors: the access around the Maingasse, which is about 40 meters away, remains. So that nobody stands in front of closed doors, the opening times of the district office are still unchanged.accessibility in the focus
A central concern of the district office is the improvement of accessibility. Many people have difficulty reaching facilities, be it due to walking disabilities or using a stroller. This is where the district office comes in: a ramp makes access easier and the front door opens automatically. There is also a barrier -free solution at the back entrance that makes it even easier to get into the building.
Inside the district office, significant progress was also made. This means that elevators are now available and a stair lift was installed at the main entrance. In addition, obstacles in the building are currently being broken down and special soil markings for blind people are introduced. Markings on stairs and floors help to be able to orient themselves better. These initiatives have already been implemented successfully, and visitors can look forward to further improvements.
