Two violent incidents are currently causing a stir in Gemünden am Main. While a weekend music event should normally bring joy to the people of Gemünden, there are also dark sides that are now coming into focus.
A serious incident occurred at the “Tanzinsel” music event, which took place on Saturday evening, August 23, 2025. At around 10:20 p.m., a visitor was dancing at the main stage and accidentally threw beer on a young man. The man reacted extremely aggressively and attacked the woman by kicking her in the stomach several times and pulling her hair. These vile acts required treatment by emergency medical services. The alleged attacker is described as around 20 years old, with long dark hair tied in a ponytail, wearing a black top and makeup with eyeliner. Teenager threatens man with toy gun
Another incident occurred on Tuesday evening in Gemünden, when a 17-year-old teenager, heavily intoxicated with around two per mille, threatened a man with a pistol. The teenager aimed at the victim from point-blank range before eventually running away from the scene. Fortunately, the victim immediately informed the police, who then sent out several patrols on a search.
The “gun,” which turned out to be a toy, was later recovered in a trash container. The young person was then taken into custody and handed over to a legal guardian. But it wasn't just in the two cases mentioned above that the Gemünden police forces demonstrated their quick action. On the same day, three men shoplifted from a local drugstore, where they stole high-quality perfumes. The trio was discovered and fled, causing one of the men to fall. Their getaway car, an Audi with foreign registration, was parked near the train station.
There have also been several other incidents in the region in recent days. Among other things, a bicycle that was secured to a bike rack with a lock was stolen in Lohr. The perpetrator cut the lock to steal the bike. The police have also started investigations here.
