It's finally here! Today, June 18, 2025, the eagerly awaited 7th Lichtenfels Wine Festival starts. We have four exciting days full of wine, cuisine and music ahead of us. The market square in Lichtenfels will be transformed into a festival mile and every year this event attracts thousands of people from the region. What is a fixed date in the calendar for many will once again captivate many onlookers and wine lovers.
From June 18th to 21st, visitors can expect an extensive program that has it all. In addition to a short speech at the official opening at 6:30 p.m. by Mayor Andreas Hügerich, the festival will be accompanied by delicate Franconian wines and a varied stage program. inFranken.de reports that there are a total of around 30 different Franconian wines on the market square from the wineries Höhn from Volkach, Goger from Sand am Main and Schmitt from Bergtheim let taste. A feast for the senses
But the focus is not just on the wines. The culinary delicacies are also a highlight of the wine festival. The participating restaurateurs have prepared a menu that is specifically tailored to the wines. Whether hearty delicacies or sweet treats, there is something for every palate here. In the evening hours, the market square will become a dance floor and there will be some dance events that invite festival visitors to join in.
Another exciting highlight is not long in coming: on the final day, June 21st, the 13th Obermain Braiding Culture Run will take place. The starting shot will be given at 4:30 p.m., followed by the award ceremony at 6:45 p.m. on the wine festival stage. This run is organized by ASC Burgberg e.V. and there are also many participants and spectators here.
As the website weinfest-lichtenfels.de reveals, guests can look forward to a varied musical program that includes various genres, especially pop and rock. The Franconian wine queen and the German basket city queen Anna I are also expected to pay their respects at the festival.
The Lichtenfels Wine Festival – an unmissable experience
