Experience the open day: Landshut Fire Department invites you!

On September 14th, the Landshut Volunteer Fire Department will open its doors to all citizens. The open day takes place in the main fire station at Niedermayerstrasse 6 and promises a colorful program for young and old. The event, which takes place on the last Sunday of the summer holidays, will certainly be a highlight for the entire community.

From 10 a.m. there will be a hearty white sausage breakfast in the hall, accompanied by live music. This is the perfect start to an eventful day! For anyone interested in fire department technology, there is an extensive vehicle and technology exhibition. Operational demonstrations also provide exciting moments and insights into the work of the fire department.

Diverse offers for children and activities

The open day is particularly family-friendly. There is a diverse children's program where the little ones can discover a lot. An attractive idea that also contributes to safety education is setting up a temporary “living area”. Sources of danger when dealing with fire are clearly presented here. The exhibits include, among other things, matches scattered on the floor, a child-sized lighter, an older armchair with an unlit cigarette and an electric heater.

In this small living area, children have the opportunity to take an exciting quiz: They have to write down the dangers presented on a piece of paper. Anyone who recognizes all the dangers will receive a children's firefighter helmet as a reward. The quiz should be designed so that only five children can take part at the same time, which makes it easier to carry out. This idea, as complex as it may be, could offer an interesting change from the rest of the program.

The culinary highlights are not neglected either - the all-day catering offers grilled specialties as well as coffee, cake and refreshing drinks. Everyone will find what they are looking for here! It invites you to linger and enjoy while you can watch the hustle and bustle around the guardhouse.
