Chaotic New Year's Eve: Injuries and fires caused by fireworks in Bayreuth!
On New Year's Eve 2025/2026 there was a mix of joy and unrest in Bavaria. In Bayreuth and Kulmbach, several people were injured due to the improper handling of fireworks. The Integrated Control Center Bayreuth/Kulmbach registered a total of 15 missions, 11 of which were in Bayreuth and 4 in Kulmbach Frankenpost reports.
An accident even meant that a patient had to be taken to the eye clinic in Erlangen for treatment. In addition to the injuries, which mostly occurred due to improper handling of firecrackers, the fire and rescue services also recorded several fights. The fire brigades had to be deployed a total of 18 times to extinguish smaller fires caused by fireworks. Garbage cans and hedges were particularly affected.
Causes of fire and damage
