On Tuesday night there was a serious truck accident on the A3 near Erlangen in the direction of Würzburg, which paralyzed the motorway for several hours. As np-coburg reports, a 24-year-old driver lost control of his truck with trailer about a kilometer after the Aurach Nord rest area. The trailer, which was loaded with 10 tons of packages, overturned and blocked the entire roadway due to its overturning.
The rescue work had to be started immediately, which led to the A3 being completely closed. Road users were redirected to the Erlangen-Frauenaurach junction. Thanks to the rapid response of the emergency services, the closure was lifted at around 6 a.m. Fortunately, there were no injuries in the accident, but the damage caused to the trailer and road surface is estimated at at least 20,000 euros.
Traffic disruptions and safety aspects
The collision not only caused disruptions on the affected road. The shifting of the central barrier also caused slight traffic disruptions in the opposite direction.
