Kassel Huskies welcome Kaufbeuren: Fight against the crisis!

The ice hockey scene is tingling on Sunday when the Kassel Huskies host ESV Kaufbeuren in the Probonio Arena at 5 p.m. The Huskies unfortunately suffered a bitter setback last week and had to admit defeat against EHC Freiburg 2-3 in a penalty shootout. The team is currently in a bit of a crisis and hopes to get back into the race with a win against Kaufbeuren. HNA reports, that the Huskies need to find their form after this game in order to climb further up the table.

In contrast, Kaufbeuren is pleased that they were finally able to get another win last week after an eight-game losing streak. The 4-1 win against the Ravensburg Towerstars certainly gives the team around its new head coach Andrew Donaldson new impetus. Donaldson recently took over leadership of the team after Todd Warriner was fired. These changes come at a critical time as the team is also dealing with a number of injuries, including to goalkeeper Daniel Fießinger and defender John Rogl.

Changes in the team

The departure of Jason Bast is particularly noticeable. The ESV Kaufbeuren player used an exit clause this week and will move to the Augsburger Panthern. Bast had scored a total of twelve scorer points at Kaufbeuren since his move at the end of October. His departure could further aggravate the already tense situation in the team, especially as they have to worry about their key players.

The Kassel Huskies can rely on their long club history. Founded in 1977 when the ice rink opened, the club has experienced many ups and downs. From the promotions and relegations of the Eissportgemeinschaft Kassel e.V. to the bankruptcy and the founding of the EC Kassel, the club has had an impressive journey. Inspired by the Siberian Husky, the name Kassel Huskies was officially introduced in 1994. The story The club is characterized by successes such as the runner-up in 1997 and promotion to the DEL2 after financial difficulties.

Outlook for the upcoming game

The Huskies are challenged. They have to show that they are willing to win against Kaufbeuren despite the setback against Freiburg. The support of the fans will play a crucial role. Looking at the table, the team would be well advised to take advantage of the opportunity presented to them to face a weakened but dangerous opponent.

The tension is increasing as to whether the Huskies can get back to winning ways after the defeat. All ice hockey fans can look forward to a thrilling game in the Probonio Arena!
