Sensation in Garmisch: Prevc wins again at the Four Hills Tournament!

An exciting start to the 74th Four Hills Tournament, which continued this year in Garmisch-Partenkirchen, offered fans an exciting competition on New Year's Day. The Slovenian ski jumping star Domen Prevc was able to prevail again and celebrated his second victory in this prestigious tour.

With an outstanding jump of 141 meters in the final and a total score of 619.8 points, Prevc beat the Austrian Jan Hörl, who took second place with 131.5 meters and a total of 584.8 points. Stephan Embacher from Austria rounded out the podium in third place after scoring 87.4 points. In midfield they could Felix Hoffmann and Philipp Raimund from Germany reached 6th and 7th place.

The path to victory

The competitions in Oberstdorf had already promised a lot of excitement. Prevc surprised there and secured the lead with jumps of 141.5 and 140 meters with a total of 316.7 points. Behind him came local Daniel Tschofenig, who claimed second place with two solid jumps (132 and 134 meters), followed by Felix Hoffmann, who came third after Timi Zajc was disqualified. Zajc himself was disqualified due to a suit that was too large and was one millimeter above the norm on three occasions.

The opening ceremony for the Four Hills Tournament also took place under the glare of 25,500 spectators who attended the spectacle in a sold-out stadium. This showed that Austria is still well represented in the competition, with five athletes in the top ten. In addition, the German jumpers, especially Pius Paschke, who spoke positively about his performance despite coming in 21st, and Andreas Wellinger, who was frustrated when he was eliminated in the first round, had their ups and downs.

A look at the overall ranking

Domen Prevc now remains on a promising course in the overall ranking. Ten years ago his brother Peter won the Gold Eagle. Now Domen also has the chance to win this prestigious title. He leads in front of Jan Hörl, while the other jumpers still have to catch up. The other German participants included Felix Hoffmann, who raised some hopes with jumps over 134 meters, but ultimately was unable to achieve the top placings.

The next stage of the tour is eagerly awaited, especially after the last record performance of Stephan Embacher, who set a new hill record of 145.5 meters on December 31, 2025. All of these achievements will continue to influence the dynamics of the tour, which has been very popular not only in Germany but also throughout Europe for years.

Fans can look forward to the next event highlights and whether Prevc can maintain its dominance.
