Gourmet weeks in Fürstenfeldbruck: Discover regional delicacies!
The anticipation in Fürstenfeldbruck is great: the sixth edition of the regional gourmet weeks will take place from October 11th to 26th, 2025. This popular campaign is organized by the voluntary nutrition council for the district and offers the opportunity to discover the tasty variety of regional products. Ten restaurants and the popular snack stand at the farmers market are taking part. The focus is on using local, organic and sustainable food that comes directly from the farm to the plate.
In recent years, the Nutrition Council, under the leadership of Richard Bartels, has set itself the goal of making the food supply in the district more responsible. “We want to make people aware of high-quality dishes using regional ingredients and encourage them to visit the participating restaurants,” explains Bartels. Promoting collaboration between producers and restaurateurs is of central importance in order to both strengthen the gastronomic offering and support small and medium-sized businesses.
News and highlights
New this year is the steamboat in Grafrath, which sources salad and vegetables from the Friedl organic farm in Biburg. The participating inns offer special promotional dishes that contain information about their origin. For example, in the Hotel Schiller in Olching: Here the onion roast comes from the Lamplhof butcher shop, while the pumpkin and pointed cabbage come from the Hecker nursery and the potatoes come from the Wagner farmer. “Guests specifically choose our special dishes because they want to find out more about the origin of their food,” reports a restaurateur. This initiative promotes direct exchange between guests and hosts and raises awareness of the quality of regional products.
With their promotional dishes, the participating restaurants impressively show how diverse and tasty regional cuisine can be. Those taking part in the campaign include:
- Dampfschiff, Grafrath
- Hotel Schiller, Olching
- Klosterstüberl, Fürstenfeldbruck
- Bräustüberl, Maisach
- Gasthof Eberl, Hattenhofen
- Oberer Wirt, Biburg
- Fly Inn, Jesenwang
- Brucker Hotel Post, Fürstenfeldbruck
- Gasthof Alte Schule, Gröbenzell
- Gasthof Drexler, Aich
- Karins Brotzeitstandl, Bauernmarkt Fürstenfeld
Each inn presents a special dish, the main ingredients of which are listed with the corresponding producers. This transparency allows guests to better understand the origin of their food and promotes awareness of regional foods. “Fresh, regionally produced food brings the real taste back to the plate,” says a committed supporter of the Gourmet Weeks.
A step in the right direction
But the Gourmet Weeks are more than just a culinary event. They are part of the regional strategy to strengthen food security in the district. Given the challenges facing agriculture, the Food Council's efforts to promote demand for local food and support small family farms are more important than ever. These initiatives are not just local, but can serve as an inspiring example for other regions, such as the project in Cologne, where nutrition councils promote the supply of regional food in daycare centers. This shows how necessary it is to build binding structures for sustainable consumption and to promote value creation in your own region.
The regional gourmet weeks not only offer a delicious insight into the surrounding cuisine, but also actively contribute to climate protection and strengthening the local economy.
