Jeweler in Forchheim robbed: Police are looking for witnesses and clues!
On the night of Sunday to Monday, September 21, 2025, there was a brazen break-in at a jewelry store in the Forchheim shopping center. The perpetrators were after jewelry and watches worth mid-five figures and not only left chaos behind, but also a lot of questions for the police.
As the Bavaria Police Reportedly, the mall's alarm system went off at 1:40 a.m. Apparently the perpetrators pulled out all the stops by ramming the jeweler's front door with a stolen VW Golf. The Golf was stolen in Nuremberg ten days ago and was left behind by the thieves after the crime. At the crime scene, the criminals left a trail of damage estimated to be in the five-figure range.
Perpetrator on the run
The escape of the perpetrators was also not particularly unobtrusive. They escaped in a silver VW Passat station wagon that was stolen in Heroldsberg and had the license plate ERH-LT 76. Particularly striking: there was a sticker from the metal band “Napalm Death” on the tailgate. Anyone who takes a look at this vehicle should immediately contact the Bamberg criminal police, who have taken over the investigation.
“We are asking the public for help: Anyone who noticed anything suspicious on the night of September 22nd or has information about the two vehicles is asked to contact us,” said a police spokesman. Witnesses can contact us at 0951/9129-491. The more eyes, the more chances of catching the perpetrators!
What do the residents know?
The local reports from in Franconia make it clear that such break-ins are unfortunately not uncommon. Even though the theft only happened a few hours ago, numerous concerned citizens have already come forward. "What's going on here? Is security in Forchheim at risk?" many residents ask themselves. Police say they will increase patrols around shopping centers to restore a sense of security.
Let's hope that the investigation quickly leads to successful results and that the jewelry thieves will soon be behind bars. In the meantime, the question remains: How do you effectively protect your property from such criminal activity? Perhaps the next few days will not only shed light on the perpetrators, but also on sensible security measures for businesses and private households.
