Important dates and exciting projects in Erlangen: Find out now!

There are currently some exciting developments in the heart of Erlangen that affect citizens in the region. From important committee meetings to a lively pump track facility to cultural events, there is something for everyone!

The Anger/Bruck district advisory board will meet next Tuesday, October 21st, at 7:00 p.m. in the FSV Erlangen-Bruck (Tennenloher Straße 68). The agenda includes interesting points such as the presentation of the new “Sports for All Center and Clubhouse” building project, warning structures as well as the energy usage plan and heat planning. A tour of the new building area is possible from 6:30 p.m., which offers the opportunity to find out more about the future projects.

Important committee meetings are coming up

Another important date is the meeting of the Main, Finance and Personnel Committee (HFPA) on Wednesday, October 22nd, at 4:15 p.m. in the council chamber of the town hall. Topics such as the preliminary design for a new fire station in Bruck and interim reports from the specialist authorities are discussed here. A fee statute for burial and cemetery statutes is also on the agenda, as is a possible increase in the construction cost subsidy for the Catholic day care center Heilig Kreuz.

There will be sport on Saturday, October 18th, when the final of the German Pumptrack Series 2025 (GPS) takes place on the pump track facility on Willi-Grasser-Straße. Organized by RC 1950 Erlangen e.V., interested parties can register at www.gpseries.de/erlangen. This event promises exciting competitions and a lot of activity on the track!

Popular pump track facility in Frauenaurach

The pump track facility in Frauenaurach is very popular. The district advisory board has already collected some questions and suggestions for improving the area, including installing sun loungers and toilets. However, not all suggestions are within the advisory board's ability to implement, which further fuels the discussion about the optimal design of the facility. This shows that interest in such leisure activities is growing strongly and that citizens want to actively shape what is happening in the region. NN reports about it.

The week is rounded off with various cultural and informative events. For example, on Sunday, October 19th, a thematic tour entitled “Erlangen in the Mirror of Migration” will take place in the city museum (Martin-Luther-Platz 9) at 2:00 p.m. This requires registration, which can be done by telephone or email. The city is also offering a free online lecture on “Chalk Teeth Everywhere! What to Do?” on Monday, October 20th at 7:00 p.m. which anyone interested should also register for. On Wednesday, October 22nd, there are two more lectures on the program: “Cough, we don’t have a problem” at 5:30 p.m. and “Healing herbs from A to Z” at 7:30 p.m., both in the municipal service building (Werner-von-Siemens-Straße 61).

The weather system is currently pointing out some construction sites: Obere Karlstrasse will remain closed until Friday, October 24th due to a burst pipe, and the southern sidewalk is also affected. Baiersdorfer Straße will only be accessible as a one-way street out of town on October 22nd and 23rd, from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., as bridge investigations are being carried out. The diversions are already signposted.

As you can see, a lot is happening in Erlangen! Whether it's sporting, cultural or infrastructural developments - the city remains active and thrives on the initiative of its citizens.
