New construction rubble contract: Cost explosion for small craftsmen in the Erding district!

Where to put the building rubble? This question concerns not only builders, but also small craftsmen in the Erding district. Mercury reports that there are over 23 recycling centers in the district where small craftsmen can dispose of their construction waste. The waste transfer station in lsen also accepts gypsum and aerated concrete waste. The transport and recycling is currently carried out by the company Hilger Günter Transporte e.K. taken over from Großschaffhausen.

However, the offering is not without its challenges. The existing contract for the recycling of construction waste expires on June 30, 2026 and must be put out to tender again. The responsible waste management specialist, Andreas Neumaier, has already decided on the new tender. This is advertised throughout Europe and also includes strict criteria.

Financial aspects at a glance

An important point is the costs: Price increases of around 20 percent are expected for the recycling of construction rubble and plasterboard from 2025, while the costs for aerated concrete waste are even expected to double. Annual expenses for waste management in the district are estimated at around 190,000 euros gross. These additional financial burdens have a direct impact on local craft businesses and their price calculations.

In 2024, over 3,300 tons of construction rubble, 88 tons of gypsum and 32 tons of aerated concrete waste were collected. This highlights the amount of construction waste generated in the district and shows the need for efficient disposal solutions.

Control and security

Another important issue is safety when disposing of construction waste. The district plans to work with a special waste management engineering office to clarify uncertainties when dealing with components containing asbestos. The rubble is currently checked through visual inspection, although sampling is currently not required in Bavaria.

Neumaier says that the chances are good of winning over the previous provider, Hilger Günter Transporte, again, as there are not many alternative providers on the market. The tender will probably be based on a high proportion of 80 percent on price and 20 percent on regionality and vehicle use.
