In Frauenneuharting, an attentive driver may have prevented a forest fire late on Thursday evening, August 15, 2025. At around 11:15 p.m., the 75-year-old noticed a small fire next to the road between Moosen and Großaschau and reacted immediately.

The older gentleman stopped, put out the fire himself and then called the emergency number. As the South German newspaper Reportedly, unknown people had set a pack of wood lighters on fire and placed them under bushes and trees. Thanks to the driver's quick action, the damage caused was kept to a minimum, so the fire department only watered the affected area.

Police focus on arson

The Ebersberg police have initiated an investigation into intentional arson. The detectives are looking for witnesses who can provide information about the perpetrators or the incident. Anyone who has seen anything is asked to call 08092/8268-0.
